Sterling Silver USM ID Bracelet
SOLD
During World
War II, service members donned identification bracelets featuring engraved details
like name, rank, and serial number as a backup to their standard issued dog tags.
Post-war, many kept wearing them as a symbol of their service, extending their popularity
deep into the 1940s. These bracelets became a part of American culture over the
years, and in the 1970s, non-military Americans wore similar bracelets to honor
soldiers missing in action. This WW2-era USN bracelet features an additional plaque
with the signature fouled anchor symbol.
