Founded in 1873 by brothers William and Thomas Sanders, Sanders’ Northamptonshire factory has a storied history, supplying boots to the British Army and producing McQueen’s favorite high-top chukka boot. Their story is part and parcel of the larger legacy of English bench-made footwear.

Today, in its fifth generation, the Sanders factory remains family-owned and operates from the same location on Spencer Road, where it started over a century ago. Every step remains meticulously carried out by skilled artisans using time-honored methods, producing approximately 1,000 pairs of shoes weekly.

Together, we’ve reissued their famous Sam Chukka Boot and infused their classic Albert Slipper with our signature West Coast ease.

Named after Prince Albert, the Albert Slipper was once reserved for more formal indoor settings. In addition to the classic black velvet, we've eased it up with new fabrications in leather and suede on a rubber sole for a more robust, all-day slip-on.

We've also reissued the Sam Chukka, a high-top boot favored by midcentury playboys. With a cushioned crepe rubber outsole and rich Polo Brown suede uppers, it's a suitable blend of comfort and class.
