The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), founded in 1861, is a prestigious research university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The raglan sweatshirt was named after FitzRoy Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan, who is said to have worn a coat with this style of sleeve after the loss of his arm in the Battle of Waterloo. Its sleeve construction provides a greater range of motion and more comfortable fit for different body types.
