In the middle of Christopher Street, in Manhattan’s West Village, sits a small, unassuming storefront where Jake Mueser and his team have offered handmade Neapolitan tailoring with a New York sensibility for the past fifteen years.

Opened in 2008, J.Mueser is part haberdashery, part appointment-only showroom, providing some of the finest tailoring this side of the Atlantic. A few years back, we partnered with Jake to develop our line of Ivy-inspired ready-to-wear tailoring. 

The J.Mueser aesthetic is, by nature, cosmopolitan, but Jake is by no means a one-trick pony. Together, we examined the finer details of midcentury American Ivy tailoring and developed modern silhouettes that embody all the distinct hallmarks of American style. 

Our Carry-On Suit, a casual take that refines the suit to its base components, was the first step in this direction. Late last year, the fully-canvassed Graduate suit, our take on the Ivy League sack suit, followed. Our latest collaboration provides the highest quality make we’ve offered yet, with those same signature details finished by the skilled hands of Jake’s Neapolitan tailors.

Offered in this collaboration are an approachable navy linen wool single-breasted suit, a sharp brown linen double-breasted option, and a sleek single-breasted tuxedo in wool barathea with grosgrain trim. Patch pockets and soft natural shoulders define the Ivy-style suits, while the tuxedo has a gentle roped shoulder and classic peak lapel.
